Marion is uniquely situated to provide residents small-town Americana within a short commute from a major metro area. Combined with a rich history, great schools, and its position on the bank of the Mississippi River, these attributes make Marion a desirable city for young families looking for a slower lifestyle outside of the city.
The Your Next Hometown logo, tagline, and campaign feature these attributes, communicating that quintessential hometown feeling is just a bridge away. The rest of the logo suite and identity take their cue from the campaign visually, but build a broader view of the city; referencing the Sultana and Marion’s architectural landscape. Each illustration above the wordmark is designed to be interchangeable to show viewers different sides of Marion, while still associating each with the overall brand.
Thrive partnered with video production studio Cherry Street Productions to bring the “Your Next Hometown” campaign to life. They filmed several vignettes highlighting Marion’s appeal to young families and educators, which we showcased on a newly branded landing page. Marion was already in the process of updated their city website, and we consulted with their developer to ensure the new brand was applied consistently there as well.
With several interstates and highways passing by Marion, one of their biggest opportunities for getting their message out was signage and billboards. We created several designs focusing on both short-term visitors, and potential residents. We also worked with city staff to revamp Marion’s unique gateway signage with fresh paint and the new brand.
